Managing & Updating Project Budget Data: A WSP Engineering Story

Oracle EBS Budget Wizard: WSP Case Study

Streamline Your Data Process with the More4apps Budget Wizard

Case Study – Manufacturing

WSP is a multinational engineering and design firm with 500 offices worldwide, working across construction, planning, engineering, energy, infrastructure, and community planning. See how the Oracle EBS Budget Wizard from More4apps solved WSP’s project budgeting pain points.

The Client

WSP designs solutions to meet future challenges, aiming to inspire society to think globally while acting locally. Given its scale, WSP’s data needs stretch across many business sectors and require a reliable way to manage project budgets.

The Challenge

WSP needed accurate, up-to-date Oracle master data to keep project budgets organized, but its existing Oracle systems weren’t effectively supporting that data.

Debbie Canole, a Systems Analyst at WSP, described the struggle: “Our people are working on large breakdown structures, which are complex and ever-changing. It was a lot of work to keep them up-to-date, often requiring double entry. We found that because it was too much of a hassle, people either were not doing it or invented ways to work around it.”

WSP set out to find a better solution, though the firm was initially reluctant to bring in a third party, since it typically built its own master data processing tools in-house.

The Solution

Despite that hesitation, WSP found that the Oracle EBS Budget Wizard from the More4apps EBS Toolbox streamlined its data processes and was easy to implement.

“Other products were just too hard for the end-user,” Canole said. “We found that More4apps knew its products and were very supportive and responsive. The team understood our needs and how its products would meet them.”

The Results

With the Budget Wizard in place, WSP’s project teams can maintain complex, ever-changing budget structures without the double entry and manual workarounds that had frustrated staff before, giving the business more confidence in its Oracle master data.
