The Client
A large, publicly traded Canadian engineering, logistics, and energy holding company with subsidiaries spanning electric utilities, construction, and natural gas production and distribution.
The Challenge
After using the EBS Toolbox for over 10 years to manage project data efficiently, the company migrated to Oracle Fusion Cloud and attempted to rely on FBDI and ADFdi for project management. Both tools fell short: thousands of project demographic fields, including task DFFs, simply weren’t available through Oracle’s native loaders. Finance and IT lacked adequate means to manage projects on Cloud, and month-end processes suffered as a result.
The Solution
Rather than continue fighting with FBDI and ADFdi, the company turned to the More4apps ERP Cloud Toolbox Projects Module, giving teams the ability to mass download, modify, and validate project data in Excel before uploading to Oracle. Pre-load validation and clear, data-matched error messaging helped users move fast without sacrificing accuracy.

The Results
Mass updates that once took weeks now take minutes or hours. In one example, the company added six new project class codes for reporting and populated them across 25,000 existing projects in a single day, work that would have required numerous FBDI/ADFdi templates and carried a high risk of error otherwise. The Projects Module has freed up hundreds of hours of manual work and given the team the confidence to modify project data and processes they previously couldn’t touch.
