Empowering Oracle Cloud ERP Teams to Improve Data Loading Processes

Our proven solutions will significantly improve your data loading process if your company uses Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.

How much does your agency value its data accuracy? Are you allowing poor-quality data to enter your Oracle information systems? Poor-quality data costs companies s as much as 12.8 million dollars annually, according to research by Gartner.

If you’re using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, you’re aware that it’s a powerful tool to help run your business’s data processes. It’s also important to be aware of its limitations.

For example, the standard user interface doesn’t cope well with mass data loads. It can be tricky and time-consuming to import and extract information from the system.

One of the main issues with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is that it doesn’t offer fit-for-purpose data accuracy validations. Moreover, resulting in poor-quality data easily entering your data system. Consequently, causing inaccurate reporting leads to a negative impact on high-level business decisions through day-to-day operational processes.

Committing to improving your business’s data quality will boost your top and bottom-line results. There are a few different options to achieve better data quality using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.

Discover the pros and cons in our whitepaper, “What are the Choices?”, to help you choose the best data-loading solution for your business.

Free Solutions

If you’re looking for a less expensive solution, there are a couple of options included with your Oracle license. These solutions include File-Based Data Import (FBDI) and Application Development Framework Desktop Integration (ADFdi).

One of the great things about these solutions is they are protected by the security features of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP – something your IT team will appreciate. However, they will require regular re-testing and patching.

FBDI is best suited to migration loads with a large, static data set. It is also useful when making updates to existing data in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. One of the major issues with FBDI is that there are inconsistencies in functionality across the different FBDI templates.

In addition, the templates are designed with technical users in mind, so end-users may find them challenging to work with. Many end-users will find it easier to use the standard Oracle user interface to input data. Another issue is that the updates rely on batch processes to run so they are not in real-time.

In comparison, ADFdi may seem more suited to end-users, but it offers limited forms and seeded templates from Oracle. From stringent limits to record numbers and restrictions, not moving columns around, to users only being able to show lists of values one field at a time, functionality is limited.

So while at first glance, ADFdi may appear user-friendly, it has a frustratingly limited scope, and there are limitations when dealing with parent-child hierarchies.

Oracle APEX

Apex enhances your Cloud ERP experience but identifying a developer with the right skills and experience is difficult. You must subscribe to another Oracle service for ERP Cloud, which isn’t free.

It may be a smart way to align business processes with a data entry method rather than the standard end-user forms, but it’s not really ideal for mass data entry.

It can upload .csv files and then call a web service to load the data, but that’s not really a win over Oracle’s other offerings listed above. Like any development effort, it requires more time and money and involves additional risk, and ongoing support.

Third-Party Software Solutions

Unlock your full potential of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP with our tools as they make systems more accessible, allowing end-users to integrate familiar Excel spreadsheets directly with Oracle.

This means they can efficiently load accurate data into their databases, creating a robust single source of information.

Why Choose a Third-Party Software Solution?

As a trusted Oracle partner, we work with 34,000 users globally, helping them upload and download accurate data.  We design all of our products with the end-user in mind and are proud to be a market leader in Oracle spreadsheet loading tools.

Are you worried about the cost of specialist IT programming? Don’t be. Companies don’t need IT to enable our ERP Cloud Toolbox. Our modules are designed to help your business load data into Oracle Cloud ERP. The software is prebuilt to seamlessly integrate Excel with Oracle, enabling end-user to own the whole data loading process.

As an example, three simple purchase orders with 20 lines took 45 minutes to create using the standard Oracle forms. The same task took 45 minutes using FBDI, but only 5 minutes using our ERP Cloud Toolbox Procurement Module

These values don’t take the error/feedback loop process or the improvement in data quality when uploading from a spreadsheet into account. Including these would show the process with ERP Cloud Toolbox to be even faster.

There is no need for your teams to be familiar with the different web services, as we carry out all of the development work behind the scenes.

Most importantly, since Excel is an everyday application most computer users are familiar with, companies won’t need to allocate much time or investment in training.

Oracle end-users understand how data is utilized within their businesses. Empowering employees to take ownership of the data entry process is vital to ensuring data quality and accuracy. Doing so means the end-user controls the entire data loading lifecycle, making better use of IT staff by releasing them to work on more technical tasks.
